Kari Lake Halperin (pronounced kɛər i KAIR-ee) was born on August 23, 1969. Before entering politics, she worked as a television news anchor.

Lake is a member of the Republican Party. She unsuccessfully ran for governor of Arizona in 2022, losing to Democrat Katie Hobbs.
